Oil on linen
Behind my house is a hill, called Hoods Hill. Quite often I walk up there in the evening with the dog. There’s a stand of larch trees. A couple of winters ago I was up there, and the snow had blown in amongst the trees. The moon was rising and I could see it just where the hill folded. There was a tremendous mix of light and line and hues of colour.
There seem to be so much promise in this simple landscape. This is what I’ve tried to catch in this painting.
